Eid Hathaleen, in the West Bank of Palestine, is a human rights defender and artist from the village of Umm al-Khair. He fights against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and documents human rights violations, including illegal settlements, house demolitions and settler violence. He received international recognition as an activist and sculptor documenting demolitions and recreating the instruments of destruction from the debris left behind.

Huwaida Arraf, a Palestinian American Freedom Flotilla co-founder, is a civil/human rights attorney and activist in Detroit. For two decades, she has been involved in legal, political, and grassroots initiatives for Palestinian rights. Co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement and a former co-chair of the National Lawyers Guild Palestine Subcommittee, Huwaida led the “Handala” boat, carrying baby formula and teddy bears for the children of Gaza that was attacked by Israeli forces in July 2025.
