Over the weekend, as tens of thousands protested around the world, Israel drastically escalated its intensive bombardment of Gaza and relaunched a ground invasion, killing and wounding many hundreds daily…see Israeli strikes batter Gaza hospitals as brutal siege, bombing intensify(Al Jazeera English article and videos). As the article points out, the direct effects of Israel’s attack — especially taking out the few remaining hospitals — are being multiplied by the effects of widespread malnutrition and starvation as all aid continues to be blocked. 

Last week, Senate Resolution 224 was introduced calling for the “urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to address the needs of civilians in Gaza.” To her everlasting shame, Senator Tammy Baldwin was not one of the 38 Senators who sponsored this resolution.

PLEASE CALL TAMMY BALDWIN ASAP and demand that she sponsor SR 224, and that she (finally) do something to stop the endless flow of weapons being used to commit genocide. DC Office: 202-224-5653

Also last week, House Resolution 409 recognizing 77 years of the ongoing Nakba and supporting Palestinian rights was introduced by Rep. Rashida Tlaib. The resolution was supported by a long list of organizations and co-sponsored by 8 other progressive members of Congress. Unfortunately, Rep. Mark Pocan was NOT among them (nor was Rep. Gwen Moore).

If you are a constituent, PLEASE CALL MARK POCAN ASAP and ask him to co-sponsor HR 409, and also to do much, much more to stop US support for the Gaza genocide.
