The Trump administration has placed sanctions on well-known and respected Palestinian human rights organizations Al Haq, Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) and Al Mezan Center for Human Rights for supporting the International Criminal Court case against Israel.
According to a statement just released by all three groups, the sanctions have been imposed under Executive Order 14203 for “directly engag[ing] in efforts by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute Israeli nationals, without Israel’s consent.”
Condemnations were immediately issued by Amnesty International, the Center for Constitutional Rights, American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), and the Coalition for the ICC. (You can get talking points from any of these.)
Please call Rep. Mark Pocan, Sen. Tammy Baldwin, and Sen. Ron Johnson to ask them to condemn Trump’s action and demand that the sanctions be lifted.
