Take action NOW and tell the media they need to advocate for peace!

Act Now!

Thousands of U.S. Army paratroopers just arrived in the Middle East as Trump weighs a ground invasion of Iran, threatening to seize Kargh Island, through which 90% of Iran’s crude oil exports pass. This, of course, would be a major escalation with catastrophic consequences across the region.

There are now over 50,000 U.S. troops encircling Iran, troops that will be sent into Iran to die if Trump capitulates to Israel’s demands for further escalation. And our mainstream news outlets are spreading propaganda straight from the mouths of Israeli officials to push for escalation!

Call on the media to tell us the truth about this war and its costs.

Last week, The Free Press, which is run by CBS-Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss and owned by Paramount, published an article called “How to Finish the Job in Iran.” The author of this article is none other than Yoav Gallant, the former Israeli minister of defense and IOF commander. Shortly after October 7th, Gallant famously said, “I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip. There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel. Everything is closed. We are fighting human animals, and we act accordingly.” A year later, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The close ties between U.S. media moguls like David Ellison, the CEO of Paramount, and the Israeli state are well-documented. Our media serves Israel by promoting more colonial violence, not just against Palestine but also against Lebanon and Iran. The outlets that are supposed to report the news instead provide a platform for a wanted war criminal to try to convince us that the U.S. must take Iran’s Kharg Island to win this war. “If you seize the island, you control it,” Gallant asserts. “Iran cannot export a single barrel without your permission.”

The murderous U.S.-Israeli alliance has already stolen too many lives. Tell David Ellison to stop fueling war.

Why is a U.S. news outlet publishing Israeli propaganda written by a genocidaire responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians? The majority of Americans don’t support the U.S.-Israeli war in the Middle East. Why on earth would we support the snatching up of more Middle Eastern land?

Our media should be reporting on the disaster this war is to the Iranians, the environment, regional stability, and the global economy, or how Israel is killing more people and stealing more land while the world is distracted. Instead, the media is selling us war, war, and more war.

Rather than regurgitating Israeli talking points about “finishing the job,” news outlets should be talking about the many reasons why there shouldn’t be a ground invasion of Iran:

  1. Many people will die, Iranians and Americans alike. Iran vowed that if a U.S. ground invasion takes place, it would capture the coastlines of the UAE and Bahrain, endangering civilians and U.S. troops. One thing that Trump, Israel, and the world should have learned by now is that Iran sticks to its word; it will not surrender.
  2. By sending troops, the U.S. is doing Israel’s dirty work for them. Israel hasn’t been pushing to send its own troops into Iran. They don’t have the numbers, nor do they have the stamina. We should not allow regular U.S. troops to be used as pawns.
  3. Massive oil and gas reserves will be destroyed, worsening the global energy crisis and setting us back decades. This will be catastrophic for the entire planet, with irreversible ecological effects.
  4. Who will pay for all this death and destruction? American taxpayers, to the tune of 200 billion dollars. Our tax dollars are being used to wage wars overseas, to fill our neighborhoods and airports with ICE agents, and to surveil us. This money that should be used to improve the quality of life is instead being used to terrorize people at home and abroad.

As this war unfolds, the media is serving the interests of warmongers in Washington and Tel Aviv. It’s up to regular people like you and me to continue to fight for justice and demand the truth.

Instead of being advocates for war, our media should be advocates for peace. Sign the petition here.
