As South Africa gave powerful testimony at the International Court of Justice and more massive demonstrations were held last weekend in the US and around the world, news came that Sen. Bernie Sanders’ resolution (SR 504) to require the US government to investigate and potentially restrict US military aid to Israel is scheduled to come up for a vote on Tuesday, January 16 at 4:30 pm CT.
The National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and Huffpost have good analyses of the resolution and its potential impact.
People around the state are taking action on Tuesday to pressure Sen. Tammy Baldwin to support this resolution. She is among Senators who might support it, but have not stated a position.
Please call BOTH her DC and her local office (numbers listed below) AND send her online “contact” form to express your support for the resolution (especially if your phone call gets a recording).
Tell her to join Sanders and vote for SR 504, and remind her we need a permanent ceasefire and an opening of Gaza for unlimited humanitarian aid.
