Plant An Olive Tree in the Madison-Masafer Yatta Grove!
The planting of these olive trees with international support can help protect Palestinian land from dispossession. Planting these trees keeps Israel from declaring more Palestinian land “uncultivated” and subject to expropriation.
Madison, Wisconsin is creating the Madison-Masafer Yatta Olive Grove with the Dutch organization Plant een Olijfboom (Plant an Olive Tree), making trees available to the Palestinian farmers and land-owners most at risk in the Masafer Yatta region.
The families of Masafer Yatta remain committed to staying on their land. You can help by sponsoring a tree to replace those destroyed by the Israeli military and settlers. Sponsoring an olive tree is a practical act of solidarity, an enduring gift or remembrance for someone you love, and a hopeful act for the planet.
The end of this year is the deadline for the next batch of trees, which must be planted between January and March. Sponsoring a tree costs 20 euros or about $24 US Dollars. There are several ways to pay for them:
- Online you can sponsor the tree directly at Madison Olive Grove.
- Mail a Check made out to Cassandra Dixon or Palestine Partners to Palestine Partners, PO Box 8414, Madison, WI 53708. Note “trees” and if you want a tree sponsor certificate or gift card please include your email.
- You can also use PayPal, Venmo, or Square. Be sure to note “trees.”
