MRSCP has activities planned for Fighting Bob Fest. Admission is free although they ask for donations.
There are also movies and speakers scheduled for the Barrymore Theater on Thursday and Friday nights before the Saturday main event. Admission will be charged there.
This year, we are planning to again focus attention on the “Progressive for Palestine” message. We think it’s important to follow up on the work of last year, as well as the new openings within the Democratic party from the Sanders campaign opposing the Israeli settlements and occupation.
We’ll be raising funds to purchase Luci Lights for Gaza, a project of the Rebuilding Alliance. Our objective is to raise at least $400 to provide these lights to a classroom of Rafah students. We will have a case of the lights to display and to sell.
Besides staffing our usual table, we are tentatively planning to
- pass out our “Progressive on Palestine” stickers;
- distribute a leaflet and other materials defending the BDS movement against attempts by the WI legislature to condemn and possibly curtail it;
- get signatures on a petition to the WI legislature about that; and
- have people fill out postcards to specific legislators asking them to withdraw support from such legislation.
