We wanted to let you know that in response to hundreds of letters and comments, Madison’s Willy Street Co-op has removed all Sabra products from the shelves! Thanks to everyone who took action for making this victory possible!!
About 450 people contacted the co-op and we are deeply grateful to them for using the collective power of words and purchasing power to stand with the people of Palestine. Official member comments on Sabra were more than 5 to 1 in favor of removal.
If you are a co-op member or shopper, please thank Willy Street management and workers for listening and responding to this call to take genocide off the shelves, and let them know you plan to reward their response by continuing to shop at Willy Street.
We are currently planning our next steps in the Madison Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. In the meantime, you can explore other ways to use the power of your purchases to support Palestine. In particular, we suggest the following:
- Use the BoyCat website to scan an item and see if it’s on a boycott list.
- Use the NoThanks app from the App Store or Google Play to do the same.
- Review the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) Boycott site.
- Subscribe to the Jewish Voice for Peace BDS newsletter for boycott updates.
In solidarity,
All of us at Madison-Rafah Sister City Project
