Israel is Starving Gaza to Death

Visualizing Palestine, Jul 24, 2025

“Hunger has become my first language. Stronger than memory, than my ability to process, and even stronger than my need to document. This is not a withdrawal from writing — it is a complete incapacity. I no longer have the tools to express myself. I no longer have a body that can sit still, or a mind that can hold a complete sentence.” Hussam Maarouf, in Raseef22
Israel’s ongoing blockade and genocide in Gaza have led to an engineered starvation crisis, with recent projections showing that 100% of Gaza’s 2.1 million Palestinians face severe food insecurity. Over one million are already enduring famine, where “one in three people goes hungry for days,” according to Carl Skau, the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at the World Food Programme.
Today, we are resharing our visual to bring attention to the extremely dire impact of Israel’s engineered starvation of Palestinians in Gaza, particularly on children.   If you are in the U.S., join US Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action’s call to action to “stop starving Gaza and block the bombs,” here. If you are outside the U.S., urge your governments to pressure Israel to end the siege, stop the genocide, and allow aid in.
