Prisoners in Israeli Occupation Forces Prisons

Dear all,

I received disturbing news about prisoners in IOF prisons in Israel.

30-year-old, Salameh Muhammad Rashaydeh, from Bethlehem lost his sight during interrogation. Rashaydeh was being interrogated for alleged trade and smuggling of small arms, and told the guards and interrogators he could not see following long sessions of interrogation, which extended to 40 hours, and they did not act to provide medical assistance.

Ali Abu Al Rub, who was arrested at a checkpoint in the West Bank on June 8, 2005 for not bearing a permission to enter Israel, died inside a cell in an Israeli prison. IOF said he hanged himself in the cell.

The prisoners issue is a big concern for Palestinian NGOs, and for the Palestinian people, as you may know. The problem is that much is happening inside the prisons and goes unnoticed.
